In these pages you will find a selection of the basic lapidary tools that you will require to complete the most common tasks. We will be expanding this category over the next 12 months to include more specialised equipment.
Our Calipers are perfect for the precise measurement of all gemstones, pearls and beads. If you are working with opals or emeralds, we recommend that you purchase a plastic set to avoid chipping your gems, whilst steel types are suitable for all other work. We have a range of readout displays from slide rules to analogue dials and easy read digital displays. We have sets available to suit every budget and requirement.
Our Magnifying Loupes are available in 10x, 20x and greater magnification lenses in both standard and triplet configurations. We have a range of colours including chrome, black and silver and our loupes are available in with plastic or steel / alloy casings and both glass and plastic lenses are available. For accurate grading of stones, you should aim for a 10x triplet loupe with a glass lens and black casing.
Our Diamond Scoops are of steel construction and available in both chrome plate or black finishes and you can choose scoops with or without handles. Our scoops are suitable for diamonds, gemstones, pearls and beads and come in a range of sizes.
Our Sorting Trays are made of solid plastic construction and they are available in your choice of black or white tones and either small or large sizes. We also carry a small stock of specialist sorting trays suitable for grading, sorting and stringing beads and pearls.
Our Multi-Prong Stone Grips are perfect for holding and retaining precious stones for inspection, grading or to assist with stone setting. Our grips are available in 3, 4 or 5 prong configurations to suit a range of stone shapes.
Our Jewellers Tweezers are available in a range of sizes and configurations for every job. We carry tweezers suitable for holding cabochons, faceted stones and pearls or beads and are available in serrated, flat or rubber coated blades. Tweezers are also available with or without locking mechanisms.
